May 19, 2010 • Equine Assisted Therapy Workshop (5:30 pm–8:30 pm)
Facilitated by Valerie Kluga, OTR/L and Debra DeHoff, NARHA Certified Riding Instructor. This workshop is offered to professionals wanting to learn more about therapeutic riding and how occupational therapy is used in case management and goal planning. 3 CEU’s are pending for OT and OTA. NARHA riding instructors, EAGALA mental health facilitators, and EAGALA equine specialists approved for three hours. May 20–21, 2010 • 12-Steps With Results: Using Equine Assisted Therapy (9:00 am–4:00 pm each day)
Facilitated by Jennifer Gilliland, Professional Clinical Counselor and Debra DeHoff, Equine Specialist Advanced. Developed and published by staff members of Serenity Farm, Inc., this workshop is presented yearly for those professionals wanting to incorporate the 12 Step AA program into their equine practice of therapies/learning or wanting to know more about this valuable process of therapy. 2-days of hands-on learning will provide participants with 12 CEU’s in the following areas: EAGALA certified equine specialist or mental health professionals, NARHA certified riding instructors, Ohio Marriage and Family professional counselors, social workers, and licensed dieticians pending. Price of $425.00 includes lunches, snacks for both days, handouts, interactive opportunities, 12-Step Manual and certificate of completion. Only 16 registrations per workshop. June 18, 2010 • Riding Instructor Preparation Class (9:00 am–4:00 pm)
Facilitated by Michelle Reiter and Debra DeHoff, both NARHA certified riding instructors. This workshop is designed to show candidates what is necessary for testing to become a riding instructor with NARHA. This 6-hour class takes each participant through the necessary requirements and allows participants to actually see and question this route for a career. Riding portion included. Price of $135.00 includes lunch, interactive opportunities, and handouts. Only 10 registrations per workshop. Register early to reserve your spot in this workshop.
